Rescue Diver

Started on December 2, 2024

The PADI Rescue Diver course will change the way you dive forever. Many divers describe it as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why? Because it’s “serious fun”. You’ll learn to identify and manage small problems in the water before they become big problems, and become more confident in your skills as a diver as a result, knowing that you can help yourself, your buddy, and any other divers in any situation that arises.

It’s the turning point for every diver, extending knowledge and experience beyond the purely recreational to see the big picture, increasing safety awareness and the ability to anticipate and avoid problems, and developing skills to manage a diving emergency if one should occur.

Through a combination of theory and skills training, you will learn and practise problem-solving skills until they become second nature. Finally, you will be faced with a number of different scenarios in which you need to evaluate the situation, assess the best response according to the options available to you and taking account of your strengths and limitations, and enact an effective rescue protocol.

To qualify as a Rescue Diver, you need to have completed Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training with Dolphin Diving Center during your Rescue Diver course and, if you would like to extend your knowledge to the max, we can also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty course at the same time.
